As Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, we often incorporate psychotherapy into medication management visits when it enhances treatment and supports your mental wellness. Medication management appointments may include brief psychotherapy interventions, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral strategies, and supportive counseling as clinically appropriate. While these visits can address both medication and therapeutic needs, they are not a substitute for regular, in-depth psychotherapy. When longer-term or specialized therapy is indicated, we collaborate with trusted therapists and will provide referrals to ensure you receive comprehensive, individualized care.

This is a pharmacogenomic test that analyzes how a patient’s genetic makeup influences their response to psychiatric medications. It helps providers identify genetic variations that affect metabolism and response to medications. This is usually not suggested until you have tried and failed a number of psychiatric medications.
